The Hudson Soccer Travel program provides players the opportunity to play competitive soccer. Traveling soccer requires a greater commitment than recreational soccer. The travel program provides quality licensed parent coaches, academy and team training, year round training, and opportunities for out of season play. Hudson Soccer has competitive teams in both Spring/Summer & Fall and competes in the MYSA (Minnesota Youth Soccer Association) league.
We offer boys and girls travel teams from the U9 level and up. In our younger groups U9-U10, the focus is on developing the players and fair playing time to the best of our ability. In the event that multiple teams are needed at this age level, the Association will place the players so that the teams are equally competitive. For U11 and above, tryouts will be held each year in late July to form teams for the fall season and the following summer season. Placement on a fall team does not guarantee placement on the same team for the following summer. Once players reach the U12 age group, playing time is not always equal and can be based on skill, attendance, attitude, and effort.
At Hudson Soccer, our goal is to develop a life long love of soccer. We will give our players the opportunity to learn and improve as soccer players in a constructive, competitive and fun environment.
Spring/Summer Season (plus Winter Indoor Training)
This session starts with practicing at our indoor facility in November and goes through April (1-2 times per week). Then outdoor practices start early April (about 2 times per week). Games run from early May to the end of July. The Spring/Summer season consists of 10-12 games. Half of the games are played on our home fields in Hudson and half in the east metro. Game nights are Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday depending on age and playing level.
Fall League practices start at the end of August. Games run from early September to the end of October. Games are played Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons or evenings. The games are either played on our home fields in Hudson, east metro, or western WI.
Fall Season – Girls U15-18
HSA offers a fall program for high school age girls. As part of this program we form mixed-age teams to play in the WWCSL league on Sunday afternoons. We welcome players from Hudson and surrounding towns. In addition, we field age/skill appropriate teams to play other teams when possible. We form balanced teams for the WWCSL, arranged games with Somerset, Stillwater JV, TC Fire, Shattuck St. Marys, and play in tournaments if enough players are available. Players are encouraged (but not required) to attend the twice weekly practices. Emphasis in practices and games is on building skills and learning to possess the ball in a game setting, but players also enjoy the opportunity to work with teammates outside of their age group and hometown.
Our Spring/Summer teams will play in two tournaments paid for by the club. One being the Rivertown Classic Tournament held in Hudson, and the other of the teams choosing. HSA will reimburse U9-12 teams up to $500 and U13 and older teams up to $550. Teams that choose to play in additional tournaments will be responsible for paying on their own.
MYSA State Tournament
Our U9/10 Teams can play in the MYSA Jamboree in the summer and fall. U11 teams and above can play in the summer district playoffs and state tournament if eligible. Fall teams that place first in their competitive district will play in the fall state tournament.
